January 14, 2016 | 15 Comments Quality Blog Comments – Today I share my secret to how I get SEO juicy quality comments on my freshly pressed blog posts. Let’s continue on the, How to make money from your blog series. Yesterday I read a blog post written by one of my friends Samantha, a nutrition coach. If you want to feel better and live healthier than Samantha helps people achieve those kind of goals. Samantha wrote this really thought provoking article titled, why I stopped eating my friends. The sad thing was even though she had all the elements of the blog that I think is right, like she had the niche target market, she had the call to action, she’s asking for comments but there were no comments. It made me feel a little upset. I had felt the same feelings when I first started writing articles. People were coming onto my website or on to the blog posts but not leaving any comments. Quality Blog Comments So I was moved to write this blog post and create a video to share my secret on how, these days I get comments on freshly published blog posts. A little while ago while doing some research to find out how the pro bloggers out there get so many comments on their blog posts it led me to a discovery. It all works around this principle, you know, you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours. If you’re a blogger then you most probably would like to have comments on your blog post – especially getting that first comment, so it encourages other people, other readers to comment. So how do they do that? This is how it works. Other bloggers, just like you, who are reciprocating and commenting on each other’s blog post, just to get things started. It makes a big difference. You know, there’s nothing worse than having a blog post with no comments on it at all. First you must join a group, like a Facebook group or a Google Plus group. Usually it is by invite only. Some kind of group or a online network where other bloggers will share their blog link in that particular group. The Rules There are rules to follow if you wish to participate. One of the main reasons you’re publishing the link to your blog post is because you want other bloggers to come onto your blog post and leave a meaningful comment. So you must also honor your part of the ‘agreement’ by going to the other blogs and leave a comment on their blogs. I’ll talk more about meaningful comment in a later blog post. How does it work? You leave a comment on someone else’s blog post and then other bloggers in turn will leave a comment on your blog post. In one of the groups I’m part of, we visit each of our blog post and leave a genuine comment after reading the blog post. The good thing is all these blog posts that are shared by other bloggers follow a similar theme or topics of interest. You know, we’re all business owners, consultants of some sort or we run a business of some sort. The blog posts are usually of very high quality and value. They are positive. Personal or business development. This makes it easier to comment and share. My Experience One of my blog post published recently received over 20 within 24 hours. The next morning I check my email with my phone and I got a lot of email notifications that there was so many comments left. At first I thought my blog had a virus. It wasn’t till I sat at my computer and I read all my emails and I realised, wow, these are real comments made by all my blogger friends who are part of that Facebook group who leave comments on each other’s blog post. So that’s pretty much it for this one. I just wanted to pique some curiosity and interest about how the hell I consistently get quality comments on freshly published blog posts. I know a lot of my friends reading this probably know this secret already but I’ve got other friends who don’t know about this yet. So if you think this is helpful to you and you’d like to know more in depth of how it’s done then let me know in the comments below and I’ll invite you to one of these Facebook groups where bloggers comment on each other’s blog post. Next time I’ll write about is how to leave good quality comments that Google and other search engines will appreciate. I was reading your article, because your title sums exactly up of how i feel, yes i do have my niche at some stages i even participate in link-up post and i do belong to FB group and i’m also part of the same group you are currently, i’m currently on day 7. Once in a while i get alot of comments and on other day a few and then there are days that i just don’t get any comments at all – so yes i know the feeling. and when i check my traffic i see that people read my blog post, but just don’t comment! It would be a good idea to analyze which blog posts received many blog posts and which received none. Then you can make some observations on why these posts did or didn’t get comments. It’s all about measuring and improving. Repeating what works and stopping what doesn’t work. Reply
In that case i must actually just post when i partake in link up’s. Since that are the days that i actually do receive comments. But i’ve also seen more established famous bloggers that don’t always receive comments so i know that i’m not the only one. I think the most important part are to have fun/enjoyment in what you are writting about – comments are a bonus – for now at least. Reply
The real comments will come once you create great value information consistently to loyal readers. That takes time and commitment. Reply

Great post Peter! We have to leverage the Law of Reciprocity. When we leave a positive, kind comment on someone’s post, they will in turn leave a kind comment for you as well! Dr. Lisa Reply
