This is blog entry Day 11 of my 30 day blog Challenge Today I’m going to share with you 3 tips that I’ve used recently on how to overcome fear of speaking in front of a camera and become confident and PUMPED! The Fear Ultimately it comes down to looking like you don’t know what you’re talking about and being humiliated in front of a large group of people. No one wants that feeling! 3 Camera Confidence Tips 1. Talk about something you know really well People don’t want to look stupid so when you talk about something you know like the back of your hand you’re making it so much easier on yourself. 2. Perfect Practice Perfect Presentation Practice your presentation as many times as you need to memorise what you’ll say. How you practice is how you will play. How much time have you dedicated to practice? The more you practice the more confident you’ll feel. 3. Imagine you have already given a perfect presentation. Use all your senses. Hear your audience applauding, cheering for you, standing ovation. Visualise reading positive comments on Facebook or youtube about how much value they’ve received from your presentation. Feel your audience shaking your hand to congratulate you. Play energetic music in your mind to pump you up! Turn up all those feelings to maximum levels. Bonus Tip Ok I know I said I’d give you 3 tips to get over the fear speaking in front of a camera but here is a bonus tip. 4. Make your first video presentation short and sweet. That’s right, make your first video short enough to get your message across while at the same time giving your audience great value. For example, talk about one useful tip, make it a 1 minute video. By doing this you can practice much more quickly and feel confident fast. Conclusion So there you go! I think we all have those same fears, but using the tips on your blog will be a way to go forward. Thanks for the tips. Reply
Peter these are really great tips! Thanks for this 🙂 you seem very natural in front of the camera. Reply
Such awesome tips Peter! When it comes to having confidence on camera, it definitely takes practice. Here’s where we differ my friend…we don’t believe it has to be perfect at all. We believe that practice makes progress and yes, in the process you end up getting better and better by default but being our true authentic selves is what others resonate most with. If we’re perfect, then others will think they have to be too so then it’s not duplicable. I say this not to argue or be obnoxious, because we truly do love your tips, just wanted to share our opinion on that specific topic too. You’re awesome! Rock On! 🙂 Reply
